The first album from Kepheus, Dark Matters, is upon us (or, upon “you” - guess it depends upon the perspective one has of collectives and groups
). This is an awesome collection of dark atmospherics, blending attributes of goth, ambient, ritual and the macabre. The music is part tension, part relief - at times subtle, at other times enveloping.
Dark Matters is available as a CD in a shrink-wrapped jewel case from CD Baby, and can be downloaded from CD Baby and a host of other locations. You can hear track samples at CD Baby, too - and pre-mastered versions of complete songs at the Kepheus page on Soundclick.

Kepheus grew from some very impressive jam sessions held at the sadly defunct Noisefloor Studios located near Boston, MA. Initially a quartet of Tatiana Brainard and Jeff Sampson (voices), and Byron Paladin and Gene Williams (synthesizers), other commitments forced Gene and Tatiana to drop out. The remaining two continued with the project, and the release of the first group CD is imminent.
Our intention is to produce music that’s accessible, dark, melodic, and edgy — and we feel very comfortable with “Dark Matters”, our forthcoming CD.
There are pre-mastered samples at myspace.com/kepheus and at soundclick.com/kepheus. As a partial view, they’re good, but pale in comparison with the finished product.
